Robert Duval Sentenced To 20-40 Years for Murder
February 08, 2012
An Erie man, who stabbed and killed his room-mate, will spend at least the next 20 years behind bars.
Wednesday morning, a judge sentenced 38 year old Robert Duval to 20 to 40 years in jail.
Duval plead guilty to third-degree murder, in the stabbing death of 51 year old John Mares last June.
Police say it happened during an argument between the two room-mates, at their west 17th street apartment.
A judge also ordered Duval to pay $4,500 hundred dollars in court costs and restitution.
The case was handled by Assistant District Attorneys Carrie Munsee and Mark Richmond.
