ETN reporting. An Erie man awaits arraignment this morning on charges of firing a gun on the city's west side.

Aberian R. Morgan, no age available, of the 300 block of Poplar Street, was taken into custody at 2:32 a.m. after police said he fired a 9 mm gun near an individual. The person was not hit by the gunfire, police said.

Morgan faces charges of persons not to possess a firearm and recklessly endangering another person.

GIRARD -- A 24-year-old Girard woman is in the Erie County Prison after state police accused her of shooting her husband in the leg early this morning.

Police said the shooting occurred at 12:15 a.m. as the couple argued at their home at 9922 Old Ridge Road in Girard Township.

Police arrested Cellae M. Kurczewski. who was arraigned before McKean District Judge Denise Stuck-Lewis on a charge of aggravated assault and placed in the Erie County Prison on $25,000 bond.

Police said Jeremy E. Kurczewski, 27, suffered a gunshot wound to his inner left thigh.

Police said Cellae Kurczewski fired two shots from a handgun during the argument.

Police said she left the house, intending to leave the property, and her husband followed her outside. Cellae Kurczewski pulled a handgun from her purse and fired the first shot, which didn't hit him, police said.

Jeremy Kurczewski entered the house and then returned to the porch, where Cellae Kurczewski shot him, police said.
