The following information has been submitted from the Erie Alert Nomination Form:

Nominated Officer: Sean Hayes
District: Erie
Nominated By: mommalee34@gmail.com
Reason for Nomination: Officer Hayes is extremely professional and deals with the stressors of every day parole work. If an officer needs assistance, guidance, a "talking to", or chips at the range, Sean is there with no strings attached. He plays an instrumental role while carrying out his department's mission. I believe Officer Hayes deserves this golden apple.

The following information has been submitted from the Erie Alert Nomination Form:

Nominated Officer: Officer John Popovic
District: Erie
Nominated By: ikeep2000@yahoo.com
Reason for Nomination: On 1/8/13 Officer Popovic encountered suspects on 10th street waving a gun. The suspect allegedly pointed the weapon at officer Popovic. The officer utilized extreme judgment and personal composition, not firing at the suspect. This reflects highly on himself, his department and his training. Good to have an officer like that on the streets of Erie. Things could have turned out so much worse. Congratulations Officer Popovic for obviously trusting training and experience. Both of you (officer and suspect) made it out alive.rnGod Bless and continue to keep you and your colleagues safe.rnA passerby Submitted from http://www.eriealert.com/officer-of-the-month/nominate/ on January 8th, 2013 at 7:39 pm
