County Detectives BureauThe County Detectives Bureau is the investigative arm of the District Attorney. County Detectives have full police powers and are often called upon to assist other county law enforcement agencies in the investigation of complicated crimes requiring special expertise or additional personnel. County Detectives also investigate crimes beyond the jurisdiction of local police agencies and manage county wide task forces to reduce crime in specific areas such as DUI (driving under the influence), drugs, child abuse, and domestic violence.


History of the Erie County Detective
